Ballard Estate Auction

October 9, 2010 -- Laurel, Montana
The Doug Ballard Estate Collection
2117 Shay Road,
Laurel, Mt
INSPECTION ~ FRIDAY AFTERNOON OCTOBER 8TH ~ UNTIL DARK,
SATURDAY OCTOBER 9TH ~ 8:30 --

237 Bidders from 6 States & 2 Canadian Provinces!!

Directions to auction site:  From the main Laurel Exit, go north on Main Street to Railroad Avenue.  This is the last street before you would go under the railroad underpass.  Turn Left or West on Railroad Avenue, follow it West under the Interstate.  At the corner it will turn into Shay Road.  Follow Shay Road to the South and West for 3 miles, the auction site is on the South side of the road.  Watch for signs.  Parking is quite limited at the property, we may be running a shuttle to the auction site so give yourself extra time if you are coming to buy a car.

UPDATE ON OCTOBER 7TH--
WE HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THE CARS FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS, GETTING THEM CLEANED UP AND RUNNING.  WE ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE CARS AND HOW THEY ARE TURNING OUT.  WE HAVE THEM ALL RUNNING EXCEPT THE BLACK 55.  IT HAS FUEL PUMP PROBLEMS.  THE CADI RUNS LIKE NEW, THE 55 NOW HAS A NEW MASTER CYLINDER AND
GOOD BRAKES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS.  THE 56 CROWN VIC RUNS GREAT AND HAS A SWEET SET OF DUAL EXHAUSTS ON IT.  THE GTO TOP WORKS, ETC.  WE ALSO HAVE A FEW NICE CONSIGNMENT CARS.  SEE PAGE FOUR FOR A COUPLE PICTURES.

Another note is about the LeSabre convertible.  We took it to a mechanic, had the heads pulled and one cylinder has rust in it.  It will need engine work to run.  Still a nice car &  engine repair is a lot cheaper than body work and easier to do.

These cars were collected by Doug in the last 10 to 30 years and have been stored in dry & secure storage.  Some have been driven fairly recently and some have been stored since he bought them.  We will have most of them running for the auction and some will sell in as-found condition.

This page is the list of cars from the Ballard estate, go to #388 Ballard Photos Pg1 & #388 Ballard Photos Pg 2 & Ballard Photos Pg 3 for pictures of the cars.  I am having problems with the server dumping pictures if I put too many up on one page so I have added a 3rd page, which hopefully will solve the problem. 9-27-10 We are still having problems with the server dumping pictures if we get too many on a page so we are adding a Ballard Page 4 to get more pictures and descriptions of the cars on the site.

Note that we are having TWO auctions for this estate.  The first one, on October 9, 2010 will be ONLY the cars and related items.  There is a list of related items such as engines and parts following the list of cars below.  Then on October 23rd, 2010 we will be selling the Real Estate ~ 7 acres with a nice home and garage, a big pole barn where these cars were stored and the remainder of items from the estate.  Doug was an electronics engineer and collector of Ham radio gear, old test equipment and etc.  Go to #389 Ballard Estate for photos of the real estate, the electronic gear, etc.

October 9 th Auction ~ inspection of the cars Friday, October 8th, noon-7 PM & Saturday October 9th, 8:30 AM.

Auction Saturday, October 9th, 10:30 AM

Cars will sell first so be sure to be on time.  There is pretty limited parking at the auction location so we may be running a shuttle from a nearby parking area.  Allow extra time if you are coming to buy a car.

Be sure to read our requirements for registration on the terms and conditions page.  We require a government issued ID -- drivers license, etc. to obtain a bidder card.  Come prepared so you are ready to buy.  WE DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS OR OUT OF STATE CHECKS WITHOUT PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS.
